The second-best team in the North American Hockey League has a new home.

One day after finishing second to the Amarillo (Texas) Bulls, the Wenatchee (Wash.) Wild announced it would be moving its franchise to Hidalgo, Texas. The 5-year-old league member will be known this fall as the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. The Killer Bees will play their home games at 5,500-seat State Farm Arena.

Wenatchee was third in the 24-team NAHL in attendance this past season. However, its five-year lease at its current home in Wenatchee had expired and an attempt to work out a new deal was unsuccessful, according to the Wenatchee World.
