Aberdeen got to within a goal, but Sioux Falls made sure the Cougars didn't stay there for long as the Flyers posted an 11-1 boys' hockey victory Monday at the Odde Ice Center.

Thomas Hogg notched a goal with 10:24 remaining in the second period, assisted by Dustin Santjer and Cameron Huff, but the 2-1 margin was as close as the hosts would get. The Flyers scored the final three goals of the period and tacked on half a dozen more in the third.

Seven different players had goals for the Flyers, led by Caleb Anderson with three goals and two assists, and Brandon Appeldorn with two goals and three assists. The Flyers dominated in shots on goal, 46-18.

Aberdeen will be in action again Friday hosting the Oahe Capitals at the Odde Ice Center. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
