Eureka native Hilary Krein returned to the track for the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday.
She has not raced for nine months after recovering from a torn tendon in her left foot. The OU junior won the mile at the 13th annual J.D. Martin Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility in Norman, Okla.
Krein was one of five women and seven men to win titles for the Sooners. Her time was 5 minutes, 3.22 seconds. In second was teammate Molly Ferguson in 5:13.18.
Next up for the Sooners is the Arkansas Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville Friday and Jan. 26.
