Valley City State's men's basketball team raced to a 75-65 decision over Trinity Bible Friday.
The hosts broke out to an 18-point lead at the break, based on some solid shooting from the field. The Vikings connected on 16 of 28 first-half attempts (57 percent) compared to just 24 percent for the Lions, who made 8 of 33 field goal attempts.
The Vikings placed three players in double figures, led by Sekani Milligen's 20-point effort. Aaron Duske and Gus Kueber added 16 and 14 points to the Valley City total.
Mikey Rosario led all scorers with 22 points for the Lions, who sank 11 of 24 three-point attempts in the contest. A.J. Anthony and David Rohrbach netted 16 points each, including a five-of-eight performance for Rohrbach from three-point range.
Trinity Bible's women's and men's teams travel to Phoenixville, Pa., to compete in the AG Classic on Jan. 10-12.
