ST. PAUL, Minn. - Presentation College dropped a pair of volleyball matches Friday at the Hamline Invitational tournament.
The Saints lost in three games against both the hosts and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Presentation coach Chelsey Albrecht said her team faced a couple of good opponents.
"That was two pretty good teams we played today. I don't feel we matched up real well against them," said Albrecht. "We missed some blocking assignments and it just threw our defense off."
On the positive side, Albrecht said the play of middle hitters Meg Martin and Kayla Fuhrman shined Friday.
"They did a nice job going against opponents who were six-foot and six-one," Albrecht said. "They did a nice job of creating for some shots for themselves and getting into situations where they would be able to get kills and be effective."
The Saints continue play at the invite today, with matches against Wisconsin-Stout at 10 a.m. and Wisconsin-LaCrosse at noon.
"We'll have our work cut out for us," Albrecht said. "Hopefully, we'll come back defensively and be a little more solid."
