The Saints lost in three sets to both Williston Community College and Valley City State. Presentation coach Chelsey Albrecht said the team was hampered by a slow start against Williston.
"I didn't necessarily think we had our legs under us," said Albrecht. "We were tired, this being our fifth and sixth matches of the weekend."
The Saints gathered some steam as the match wore on, however, she said.
"In the first set, we struggled with serve-receive, then sharpened up a little bit," Albrecht said. "Megan (Goedert) started connecting in the second and third sets."
Goedert finished with 11 kills in the match, with six kills, two ace serves and two blocks for Karly Fuhrman. Mo Bunney contributed 14 set assists, nine digs and two blocks.
Against Valley City, the Saints ran into an hard-serving team in the Vikings.
"We weren't passing really well and we struggled to get our middles involved," said Albrecht. "They served aggressively at us."
Goedert notched seven kills and six digs against Valley City with Karly Fuhrman having four kills. Carly Peterson had nine set assists.
The Saints return home for a pair of matches next week, hosting Minnesota-Morris Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Valley City State Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Strode Center.
