ANKENY, Iowa -- Presentation's men's soccer team broke into the win column Saturday with a 1-0 victory at Faith Baptist College.
The Saints received a goal from Raphael Alvarado in the 43rd minute, with Terry Kampa assisting on the play. Kevin Johnson was the PC goalkeeper. The Saints had a 20-5 advantage in shots.
"It was a good, low shot," said PC coach Jacob Plocher. "Their keeper got a piece of it, but it went off the post and in."
The Saints were coming off a 10-day layoff since their last game, and Plocher felt the time helped the Saints.
"What was nice was that long break, and we were able to work on some things," Plocher said. "The guys picked up on what we were trying to implement. Hopefully, we can build on this and put together another solid performance (Sunday)."
The Saints will try to make it two in a row today, taking on Buena Vista in Storm Lake, Iowa.
