WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Brad Keselowski's first NASCAR road course win put him a step closer to tie a Nationwide Series record.
Keselowski moved into the lead on Lap 66 of 82 and held off a stern challenge from Penske Racing teammate Sam Hornish Jr. to win Saturday's Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International in New York.
Keselowski has now won in each of his last four starts in the Nationwide Series this season, including wins at Richmond, Va., Kentucky and Iowa.
Ryan Newman (2005 season), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (2002-2004) and Mark Martin (1993 season) currently share the record of winning in five consecutive starts.
"There was definitely some drama with all the different (pit) strategies. We had a fast car and that's so important," said Keselowski, who earned his 24th career victory.
"I think in a race like this you learn more about yourself and what your limitations are and how hard you push the car."
As the laps wound down, Keselowski twice wheel-hopped his No. 22 Ford which allowed Hornish to close the gap. In the final two laps, however, Keselowski regained some of the lead he had lost.
It looked like Penske Racing would have a 1-2-3 finish but Joey Logano, running third with two laps remaining, ran out of fuel and ended up 21st.
Hornish said he feverishly worked to force Keselowski into mistakes in the closing laps.
"I just wore my stuff out trying to do everything I could to figure out how to keep with him and keep pressuring him," Hornish said.
"With about five laps to go I had to have a little bit of a gut-check on what was more important, winning the race or getting some points. I just decided it would be a little bit better to get the points."
Brian Vickers finished third, Regan Smith was fourth and Elliott Sadler fifth.
Series points leader Austin Dillon finished 12th and holds a three-point lead over Hornish heading into next weekend's inaugural race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Keselowski's next scheduled Nationwide start is later this month at Bristol, Tenn.
