BRITTON - The Britton Lumberjacks swept an amateur baseball doubleheader from Northville Tuesday, winning by scores of 1-0 and 5-1.

Austin Suther scored the lone run for Britton in the opening game. Suther, who finished with three of Britton's four hits to go with three stolen bases, singled and stole second before moving to third and eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Kappes. Justin Link threw a complete game, scattering six hits and striking out seven.

For Northville, Alex Bauer and Clayton Nutter collected two hits each. Taylor Morsching struck out eight batters in a complete-game effort.

Northville got an early lead in the nightcap with a first-inning run, but were held scoreless the rest of the way. Adam Suther's two-run double in the bottom of the first gave the hosts the lead for good. Pat Krause paced the Britton attack with two hits while Nutter had two for the visitors.

Britton improved to 3-5 overall and is 2-2 in league play. The Lumberjacks travel to Aberdeen to face Circus Sports Bar Monday at Fossum Field.
