Sisseton dropped a pair of close amateur baseball games against Castlewood on Sunday.
Castlewood edged Sisseton 6-5 in the first game and then again 9-7 in the night cap.
Sisseton trailed 3-0 after the third inning of the first game. It then exploded for four runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead and added another run in the fifth inning. Castlewood responded by scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth and scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Sisseton was out-hit 10-5 in game one. T.J. Just had two singles for Sisseton, while Brett Ziemer added a double.
Castlewood made another late rally to take game two. The game was knotted up at 7-all after Sisseton plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The game remained scoreless until Castlewood got two runs in the top of the eighth inning to earn the victory.
Dan Ziemer and Matt Remp had two hits apiece for Sisseton in game two. They both hit home runs as well. Ziemer hit a two run blast in the third inning, while Remp had a solo shot in the fourth inning.
Sisseton (0-2) will host Volga on Sunday.
