It has been a miserable spring for outdoor enthusiasts.
This morning, finally, that all changed. I noticed the change a little before 6 this morning. It was not only warm in Aberdeen, but there was no wind.
Then the sun came out. The combination during my morning routine made me want to:
Walk my dogs until either they stopped walking or I did (they would have won that contest).
Ride my bike until the sun went down.
Ride my Scooter right past the American News to Redfield (a full-day trip, but a fun one to be sure).
But I didn't do anything except to add a little to my walk, bike ride and scooter route to work. Now that I have been indoors for a while, I feel icky.
I want to be outside, walking, biking or scooting while reporting. But here I sit, breaking down by the minute even though I am doing a job I love.
Last year, there were so many beautiful, windless days in a spring that came very early. I often thought to myself on those mornings why would anyone want to live anywhere else?
This spring has been miserable. Teased with an OK day here and there, only to see the return of nasty weather and winds.
Yesterday afternoon when I had to scoot somewhere for work, the winds were horrible. It felt like it was never going to be nice again.
This morning, hope has returned.
