The Tigers fired a 372 team score to win the meet. Sophomore Chelsy Hoffman of Mobridge-Pollock earned medalist honors with an 86. Aberdeen Roncalli finished second with a team score of 417. Roncalli junior Samantha Bot carded an 86, the second best individual score of the meet.
The Cavaliers individual scores are headed in the right direction - down.
"The weather was beautiful. Each time we get out we get lower scores," said Roncalli girls' golf coach Kerry Brandenburger. "Our team score was the lowest it's been all year and we had several individual personal bests."
Madison Brandenburger fired her personal best score of 108 and Brooke Olson carded her personal best of 119.
"Sam is solid, consistent and level headed. She has an all around game. She will say she needed to be better on her short game today. Madison will say she could have shaved another five to eight strokes off her score. She and our eighth grader, Christina (Berbos) played well. Christina keeps improving and Brooke had her best score. That's where we've been cutting strokes with our two, three, four and five golfers," said coach Brandenburger.
Groton and Sisseton finished third and fourth respectively.
"Groton improved today," said Brandenburger. "We're bringing our score down and peaking at the right time. I'm so pleased with how the girls are rolling along."
Aberdeen Roncalli, Groton and Sisseton will meet up again on Friday at the Northeast Conference Meet at Fisher Grove Country Club near Redfield. The meet gets underway at 10 a.m.
