EUREKA -- Aberdeen Christian claimed its second boys' golf victory of the week, winning the team title at the Eureka Invitational on Saturday.

The Knights, who also won the Lake Region meet Thursday, put together a score of 263 to edge Potter County by one stroke in the team race. Four teams finished with a dozen strokes of Christian. Saturday's results were the opposite of last Monday at Mobridge, when Potter County edged Christian by one shot.

Matt Rohrbach earned medalist honors with his round of 76. Jordan Maier of Eureka was two shots in back of Rohrbach. While the Knights played well, Christian coach Gary Aderhold said there are a still a few rough areas to smooth out.

"We had a lot of three- and four-putts," said Aderhold. "We need to work on our chipping and putting with the regions around the corner."

Rohrbach was pretty strong the whole day, said the Christian coach.

"Matt played really solid today. He missed only one fairway all day," Aderhold said. "He had some short putts that got away from him. His long game has been really good, his short game could use a little work. He was a little disappointed in his round at the conference meet, but has the motivation to improve all parts of his game."

Christian's remaining golfers were very close together in their scoring, with rounds of 93 (Ezra Aderhold), 94 (Judah Aderhold) and 95 (Cramer Johnson).

"Those three grouped very close together," the coach said. "We have some good internal competition on the team. The guys motivate each other to improve."

There were only two complete girls' teams. Aberdeen Central's junior varsity had a score of 355 while Potter County was second at 419. Shauni Schwartz of Herreid was medalist with a score of 90, followed by Micaela Johnson of Bowdle with a 92.

Christian's pre-region meet is scheduled for Monday in Watertown, starting at 9:30 a.m.
