- Augustana College will hold a field dedication ceremony beginning at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, to celebrate recent renovations made to Ronken Baseball Field. Renovations include new lights, a completed turfed playing surface, new dugouts, backstop and netting surface.
- Gayville-Volin got more than 51,000 votes on Facebook to finish third in a State Farm contest that featured more than 3,000 entries to win $25,000 to put toward the school's new $350,000 all-weather track that the community hopes to build this summer.
- With heavy snow sagging the roof at the Rochester (Minn.) Community and Technical College Dome Thursday, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference postponed the start of the NSIC Softball Tournament until today for safety reasons. The tourney was moved indoors to avoid weather issues.
