Some of the world's best Olympic-style shooting competitors -- including a Selby man -- will be among the 300 athletes from 40 nations competing in Fort Benning, Ga.
Brian Beaman of Selby will be competing in the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup for Rifle and Pistol Sunday through May 12. Beaman finished fourth in the men's 10-meter air pistol at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He nearly medaled after tying for third, but lost a shoot-off to his USA teammate Jason Turner of Rochester, N.Y.
There will be 17 Olympic medalists shooting in Georgia. Beaman soon will celebrate his 29th birthday (May 16).
