Warner head boys' basketball coach Matt Mackner has resigned to spend more time with his family. Mackner has guided the Monarchs for the past eight seasons.
"The main reason I'm stepping down is I have two little ones at home under the age of 3," Mackner said.
He said some people have reminded him that Warner has some good players coming up through the program, but Mackner said, "I have a couple of pretty good ones at home, too."
Mackner said he will miss the relationships with the players and those involved in the program, but that he will still try and get to as many games as possible.
"We're still basketball fans," he said. "I'm excited to watch the kids continue to get better and have success."
