The State AA and Eastern South Dakota Conference champion Pierre Governors placed two players on the all-ESD boys' basketball first team: Lane Severyn and Zach Hanson.

Brady Mohr and Braden LeGrand of Aberdeen Central lead the honorable-mention team. Others honored on the first team were Chase Marso and Jacob Adams of Brandon Valley; Tyler Nagy and Braxton Carlson of Brookings; Justin Decker and Adam Zwanziger of Huron; Tanner Heiser of Watertown; and Seth Cavanaugh of Mitchell.

The first-team players have plenty of connections to South Dakota State as Severyn is a SDSU recruit; Heiser (sister Tara) and Carlson (brother Brayden) have siblings on the SDSU basketball teams and Nagy is the son of SDSU men's coach Scott Nagy.

Other honorable-mention selections were Nic Peterson, Brandon Valley; Kaleb Vig, Brookings; Beau Brown, Mitchell; Landen Mack, Watertown; and Michael Rucker and JJ Hejna, Yankton.
