The Aberdeen Christian boys' basketball team defeated Waubay 59-33 on Tuesday in a non-conference game.
The Knights built a 32-14 halftime lead on the way to the 26-point win.
"The kids are working hard and finding their roles," said Christian coach Dave Palmer. "It doesn't matter who gets the points or the rebounds as long as we play together as a unit."
The Knights were led by Matt Rohrbach with 24 points including six three-point field goals.
"We're starting to find out that Matt's getting good shots from ball reversals. Our offense runs through him. He got good shots as Waubay concentrated on stopping other kids. Sam (Palmer) has been our leading scorer all year and they tried to take him away a little bit," said Dave Palmer.
Sam Palmer finished with eight points and Job Niewenhuis had 19 points.
"We saw zone tonight (Tuesday) and we don't see zone very much," said coach Palmer. "We found Matt with the extra pass. He made three in the first quarter to set the tone."
Tanner Droog, Palmer and Niewenhuis all had eight rebounds each.
"Defensively, we played man the whole game and they worked hard. They did a good job. Everybody played well together. We had kind of a rough quarter in the third quarter. We had the lead and were trying to do some things," said Palmer.
Waubay was led by Shay Swanson with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Aberdeen Christian will host Eureka-Bowdle on Friday in a non-conference game and Waubay will entertain Waverly-South Shore on Saturday in an Eastern Coteau Conference game.
"We had a great game with them last year," said Palmer about Christian's 74-69 double overtime win over Eureka-Bowdle. "I'm sure they remember."
