IPSWICH -- McCook Central-Montrose put seven wrestlers into the finals on the way to winning the team championship during the Ipswich Booster Club Tournament on Saturday.
MCM finished with 155 points, a dozen better than runnerup Potter County. Britton-Hecla/Langford, which was third, had the most individual champs with three.
Aberdeen Roncalli scored 45 points and received another title from Tyson Mitzel.
The junior improved to 27-0 with his championship at 160 pounds.
"He's doing what he wants to do and that's win matches and get himself better," said Roncalli coach Justin Briese. "He's got the big picture in mind."
Matt Schlosser was second at 195 and Zach Sumner was third at 220 for the Cavaliers.
The results were almost identical to what Roncalli has experienced at tournaments throughout the season.
"That's what you kind of get from them," Briese said pointing out his wrestlers' consistency. "You don't see them up and down. That's a good thing. You don't want to question which kid is showing up."
Roncalli has a huge week ahead. The Cavaliers head to Britton on Thursday for a double dual with Britton-Hecla/Langford and Milbank, then host Sioux Falls O'Gorman on Friday and participate in the Lee Wolf tourney on Saturday at Golden Eagles Arena.
Friday's action starts with a dual between SFO and Warner-Northwestern, followed by Roncalli and O'Gorman. Both matches will be in the school cafetorium.
Briese said this coming weekend will be the only time his team will be in action three straight days.
"It's pretty rare for schools to do that," he said.
