Aberdeen dropped its final game of the Junior Gold Tournament on Sunday.
Aberdeen lost to Wessy's Boys 4-3. Wessy's Boys is a team from Woodbury, Minn. The Cougars scored first to take a 1-0 lead after the first period. Thomas Hogg netted the goal on an assist from Matt Harty. However, Wessy's Boys scored three straight goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. The three goals were all within a three minute and 25 seconds span. The Cougars scored early in the third period to get within 3-2. Bailey Roberts scored the goal.
William Lundquist of Wessy's Boys scored his third goal at the 7:24 mark to stake a 4-2 lead for his team. Kevin Birkla of Aberdeen got a goal with three seconds left to reach the final margin.
Aberdeen goalie Nick Dalchow had 24 saves. Aberdeen will play at Sioux Falls on Friday.
