Presentation held two leads, as the Saints tallied the first goal of the game by Colin Quinn. An assist went to Terry Kampa and the Saints led 1-0 in the 19th minute. Presentation held the lead for 24 minutes before the Lancers tied the game just before halftime.
The Saints opened the second half with a goal from Johnny Partida to retake the lead, but that lead did not last long as Levi Gomez put in the game-tying goal 49 seconds later. The flurry of goals that helped the visitors pull away began with Genaro Bustillos scoring the second of his two goals.
"We had some mental lapses and they were able to capitalize on them," said PC coach Jacob Plocher.
Presentation goalie Kevin Johnson made 18 saves on the day. Total shots were 38-18 in Mount Marty's favor. The Saints fell to 0-5 on the season while Mount Marty improved to 3-2. Plocher is seeing improvement in PC's efforts, he said.
"They are getting better and seeing what they need to be doing," Plocher said. "We just have to piece together 90 minutes."
Presentation will be in Iowa for its next game, facing Faith Baptist in Ankeny on Sept. 21.
