HARRISBURG -- Missed opportunities led to Aberdeen Central dropping a 2-0 boys' soccer decision to Harrisburg on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles, who beat Harrisburg 5-2 earlier in the season at Swisher Field, could not convert this time around, said coach Steve Cogley. Central had 30 total shots in the contest and missed on two penalty kicks, one in each half.

"I haven't seen many games like this one," Cogley said. "The O'Gorman game was another where we had ample opportunities and didn't score."

Both Harrisburg goals came in the opening half, as the hosts scored at the 22:00 mark on a 30-yard shot and added a free kick for a goal at 35:00. Joe Hilsendeger was in net for Central and made five saves.

"We were getting chances. It was more frustrating for the kids," Cogley said. "You're bound to think one or two (shots) would go in. You have to give credit to Harrisburg, they pulled it out. We started a little flat and got down 2-0 just like (the first meeting). This time, we couldn't come back."

The Golden Eagles will travel to Groton Tuesday for their next game, with the varsity game slated for 1 p.m.
