Aberdeen Central volleyball hit the road for the first time this season and returned from Sturgis Brown with a 25-15, 25-7, 25-13 victory over the Scoopers to improve to 4-0 on the season.
"We were just solid all the way around," said Central head coach Dennis Northrup. "It was a good outing in kind of tough conditions. The gym was just miserable. It was a good win."
Temperatures in the Sturgis gym ranged close to 90 degrees, but the heat didn't slow down Central sophomore Brianna Kusler, who recorded 15 kills in 30 swings with just one error at the net. She also posted four service aces, five digs and a solo block for the Golen Eagles.
"We were pretty solid serving," said Northrup, who said his team is adjusting nicely to playing together despite starting three sophomores in the rotation. "We played solid defense and served aggressively and didn't make a lot of mistakes."
Central returns home to face Mitchell on Tuesday. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Golden Eagles Arena.
