The Northern State men's basketball team has announced its schedule for the 2013-14 campaign.

The schedule features five teams that played in the 2013 NCAA Central Regional Tournament, four of which are Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents.

NSU will begin the season with an exhibition game vs. Division I Creighton in Omaha, Neb., on Nov. 1. NSU will play six non-conference opponents during the regular season, including two games in the Sanford Showcase in Sioux Falls against Central Missouri and Missouri Western on Nov. 9 and 10.

"We've continued to improve our non-conference schedule each year," Northern State coach Paul Sather said. "Playing both Central Missouri and Missouri Western, who come from the MIAA in the Sanford Tip-off Classic, will give us two quality Division II games within our region. The games will be played at the new Sanford Health Pentagon, which is the site of the NSIC Tournament."

NSU will have its home season-opener Nov. 12 against Jamestown College, which is coached by former NSU assistant coach Justin Wieck. This will be the first of four consecutive home games for the Wolves. Dakota State comes to Wachs Arena on Nov. 15 and Dickinson State comes to Aberdeen on Nov. 17. Mayville State concludes the four-game stretch on Nov. 25.

"We'll also play four very good NAIA teams at home," Sather said. "Dakota State and Jamestown both played in the national tournament last year and will be strong again this year. Dickinson State and Mayville have traditionally always done well, and their coaches do a tremendous job. Coach (Dan) DeWitt at Mayville is a Northern State alum and was part of some very special teams here at NSU."

Northern opens conference play on the road as it travels to Minnesota State-Moorhead on Nov. 30. NSU opens with three-straight NSIC games on the road as the Wolves will play Minot State and the University of Mary on Dec. 6 and 7, respectively.

NSU's first home conference game will be Dec. 13 against Minnesota-Crookston followed by Bemidji State the following night. The Wolves will host Moorhead on Dec. 21. This will be the Wolves' final game before Christmas Break.
