Nicolette Schmidt of Redfield was fifth in the 1,600-meter run in a personal best time of 5:14.32 at the 37th annual Hershey's Track and Field North American Final Saturday in Hershey, Pa.
Event winner Tatiana Del Valle of Puerto Rico won the event in a meet-record time of 4:57.18.
Schmidt placed fourth in the nation in the 800-meter run in 2011. At the 2013 State A track meet, she placed fourth in the 1,600 meters and fifth in the 3,200 meters.
