Groton rallied to nip Miner-McCook 5-3 Saturday night in the second round of the American Legion Baseball State B Tournament in Webster.

Winning pitcher Matt Thorson led Groton with two hits, two RBIs and eight strikeouts. He only gave up five hits in seven innings of work.
Dane Campbell got the save. Also getting two hits for Groton were Drew Planteen, Dalton Locke and Kasey Kurtz.
Miner-McCook had a 2-0 lead after 3 innings, but Groton scrored three in the bottom of the fourth. Both teams scored one run in the sixth, and Groton added another run in the eighth.
Jon Forster had a double and single for MM, while teammate Tyler Genzlinger had a triple and two RBIs.
