Aberdeen golfer Andrew Welk carded a final round 2-under par 70 to finish with a three-day total of 217 and win the championship of the Lockton Kansas City Junior Tournament.
Welk began his second round with a hole-in-one on the par-three 12th hole and won by getting an eagle on the tourney's final hole, a par five. The first South Dakota golfer to win an AJGA event, Welk was three shots out of the lead and tied for sixth going into the final round. Welk had rounds of 74 and 73 the first two days.
Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the event was played at the Creekmoor Golf Club in Raymore, Mo.
