REDFIELD -- Effective pitching in the opening game and solid offense in the second game added up to an amateur baseball sweep for Redfield Dairy Queen Thursday.

Luke Holt held Northville without a hit for the first 6 innings before surrendering a single to Clayton Nutting. Holt fanned 11 batters in the game. The hosts broke open a close game with a three-run fifth inning, keyed by a two-run single from Tanner Clausen. Brendon Hoellein had two of Redfield's six hits.
A six-run outburst in the fourth inning was the difference in game two. Brent Osborn contributed a two-run single during the inning. Hoellein threw a complete game, scattering seven hits and striking out eight batters. Coates collected three hits for Redfield, followed by Brent Osborn, Edgar Tovar and Joel Osborn with two each.
