The Aberdeen Smittys will host the Region 1A American Legion Baseball Tournament Tuesday-Thursday at Fossum Field.
The five-team, double-elimination event will send the top two teams to the State A Legion Tournament July 31-Aug. 4 at Fitzgerald Stadium in Rapid City. Tuesday's games are No. 5 Sioux Falls Post 307 vs. No. 4 Watertown at 10 a.m. followed by No. 3 Huron vs. No. 2 Brookings at 1 p.m. and No. 1 Aberdeen vs. the Sioux Falls-Watertown winner at 5 p.m.
Tuesday's nightcap at 7:30 p.m. will be between the loser of Sioux Falls-Watertown vs. the loser of Huron-Brookings.
The two undefeated teams will play at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the championship and securing a berth in the state tourney. There will be loser bracket games at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The championship is set for 1 p.m. Thursday.
