The 38th regular season of the North American Hockey League will open Sept. 13.
There will be 24 teams in four divisions that will play 60 regular-season games, or a total of 720. The season will end March 29. The league is for unpaid players ages 16-20 who are trying to advance to the college or professional ranks.
The Aberdeen Wings will begin their fourth season Sept. 18 against the Janesville (Wis.) Jets at 4:45 p.m. in the Schwan Super Rink at Blaine (Minn.) in the 11th annual NAHL Showcase Tournament. The Wings will have 16 games against non-Central Division opponents, including home and away two-game series against the Minnesota Wilderness, the Minnesota Magicians and the Wenatchee (Wash.) Wild.
The 2014 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will be Feb. 17-19 in Troy, Mich. and the 2014 Robertson Cup Championship Tournament will be May 8-11 at a location yet to be announced.
