Northern State senior Mikayla Barondeau has added a third Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America honor to her list of career honors. Barondeau was recently named to the second team in the Division II Track & Field/Cross Country category.
This marks her second All-America award in track and field/cross country and Barondeau was also second team selection in women's basketball.
Barondeau, who earned All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference honors in three different sports in five seasons, is the only person in NSU history to be named a three-time Academic All-American.
In basketball, she scored more than 1,000 points in her career and has recorded the only 20-point, 20-rebound effort in NSU women's basketball history. On the track, Barondeau holds NSU's 3,000-meter steeplechase record and earned All-NSIC honors as a sophomore.
Since 1989, eight NSU student-athletes have earned a total of 10 Academic All-America honors.
