Former Aberdeen Wings hockey player, goaltender Hunter Leisner, has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for American International College in Springfield, Mass., which belongs to the Atlantic Hockey Association.
Leisner, 20, played in the North American Hockey League for three seasons. The last 1½ years were with the Texas Tornado who acquired Leisner from the Aberdeen Wings during the 2011-12 season. A native of Garland, Texas, Leisner helped lead Texas to the 2012 Robertson Cup National Championship.
Last season, Leisner led the league in games played with 50 and tied for third in the league with 30 wins. He posted a 2.71 goals against average.
