The Aberdeen Wings will welcome some celebrity pheasant hunters and former hockey greats at its home game Thursday.
The Wings will host Brookings at 7:15 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen. Scheduled to appear are former NHL players Shjon Podein, Guy Gosselin and John Vanbiesbrouck, a retired goalie with 374 NHL wins. Podein helped the Colorado Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 2001 and is often remembered for wearing his uniform for a full 25 hours after Game 7.
Two-time Olympian Len Lilyholm is scheduled to be in Aberdeen as is former Olympian Dave Brooks. Brooks is the brother of Herb Brooks, coach of the 1980 U.S. Olympic gold medal team.
