The Mobridge Cardinals scored nine times in the first four innings on the way to an 11-6 amateur baseball victory over Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar at Fossum Field Wednesday night.

The visitors pounded out 14 hits, including four for extra bases, and took advantage of 9 walks and three errors.

After racing out to a 5-0 lead, Mobridge had its lead sliced to one after Circus plated four runs in the bottom of the third.

Evan Jordre drove in one run with a double and Tyler Newman produced a two-run single.

However, Mobridge matched the four spot in the top of the fourth inning to regain control. The Cardinals had five hits in the frame and also two bases on balls. Cassius Cocher tripled and Greg Heyne doubled to lead the uprising.

A group of six batters had two hits apiece for Mobridge: Ryan Hoffman, Derek Veldhuesen, Colton Goodshield, Jesse Brown, Cocher and Heyne. Hoffman and Heyne each drove in a pair.

Jordre and Will Swisher topped Circus with two hits apiece. Jordre finished with two runs batted in.

Circus, 3-3 on the season, is off until Tuesday when it hits the road to play the Redfield Pheasants.
