REDFIELD - Early offense and solid pitching combined to give Redfield Dairy Queen a 9-1 amateur baseball decision over Britton Tuesday.

Dairy Queen tallied eight of its nine runs in the first four innings, while three Redfield pitchers combined to limit Britton to just four hits. Starter Keith Gall went the first seven innings, recording five strike outs. Isaac Lukes pitched a perfect eighth, striking out the side and Edgar Tovar finished the game.

Offensively, Tovar led a 14-hit attack by going four-for-five at the plate. Brent Osborn, Chris Studer and Brendon Hoellein contributed two hits each. Kelly Coates drove in a pair of runs for Redfield. For the visitors, Bill Bray had two hits, and Adam Suther drove in his team's only run with a double.

Redfield (3-3) was scheduled to play at Mobridge Saturday, but that game has been canceled. Dairy Queen's next action is Tuesday when it hosts Miller for one game at 7:30 p.m.
