- Eureka native Jeff Mettler led the University of South Dakota men's cross country team to a second place finish at the recent Summit League Championships in Rochester, Mich. Mettler placed second in the men's 8K race with a time of 25-minutes, :10.6 seconds to earn all-conference honors. The Coyotes are next scheduled to race at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 10 in Springfield, Mo.
- NSU football scout team players of the week are Jackson Pasco (offensive) and Chad Stoterau (defensive).
- NSU running back Terrelle Walker had a 79-yard TD run last Saturday vs. the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. Walker's TD run was four years short of the school record for the longest scoring run. Johnny Bentley has the record with a 83-yard TD run in 2005 vs. Mayville State in the first NSU game played at the new Swisher Field.
