Although it was a chilly day, Patti Reede Courser and three other golfers played a recreational round at Moccasin Creek Country Club on Thursday.

Reede Courser recorded a hole-in-one on number eight, which played 115 yards long. She used a 6-rescue club on the par-3 hole. It was the first ace of Reede Courser's 18-year golfing career. She was within a few feet of an ace about five years ago and had never witnessed one before.

Reede Courser and the three witnesses, Joan Bosanko, Becky Campbell and Jeanne Olson, watched the ball hit the green and and roll in the cup.

"They started hugging me," said Reede Courser. "Ross Santjer (course superintendent) came up. He saw it from his angle. It was a wonderful feeling. It was especially exciting for me because when I went in the clubhouse Ted Zahn, who has been my teacher since day one, was there and I got a big hug from him."
