Thomas Orr, assistant professor of sport marketing and administration, spoke on The Huffington Post's HuffPostLive. The discussion centered on the recent death of a soccer referee who was attacked after giving a player a yellow card for a foul.
Orr is author of "Sport and Violence," a critical examination of sports rage and aggression in athletics. The former player for the Indiana Hoosiers leads several Midwest youth camps for the Boston Bruins as a director for Pro Ambitions hockey. He also coaches the youth teams of his four children in Aberdeen.
Orr is directing a summit on bullying and hazing in schools and is currently finishing up his second textbook, which will be about event planning.
