Watertown made quick work of Aberdeen Roncalli Tuesday in a high school boys' tennis dual, handing the Cavaliers a 9-0 setback.
Roncalli coach Jessie Daw said the Cavaliers went up against a quality team Tuesday.
"They are a very good team," Daw said. "A lot of people are picking them to win state. It was a good chance to match up against one of the best teams in the state."
While the Cavaliers took their lumps on the court, they also took away lessons as far as areas to improve.
"The benefit for us, is that we got to see what the best looks like, and we know what we have to work on," Daw said.
Like most teams, Roncalli is working to get a lot of matches in before post-season play begins. Daw said she has seen improvement but there is still work to do.
"We are doing some things better, with how we are putting our points together," Daw said. "We have to keep focusing on what we need to do, putting quality points together back-to-back."
The Cavaliers will have an opportunity for that as they travel to Pierre Thursday for duals against the Governors and St. Thomas More. Action starts at 11 a.m.
