Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway is among half a dozen celebrities who will take part in the 2013 Hy-Vee/Sanford Legends event, scheduled for June 13-25 in Sioux Falls. The Legends provides opportunities for free specialized training for youths in multiple sports. The sessions are conducted by professional athletes and regional college and high school coaches. Last year, $145,000 was given back to the Legends Grant Program for area communities and more than $958,000 since 2002.
Activities begin with a banquet on June 13 and include camps for multiple sports and a golf tournament. A free lunch on June 15 is also provided. Also slated to appear are former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, former Kansas City Royals pitcher Bret Saberhagen, former Los Angeles Lakers player Michael Cooper, New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara and professional martial artist Ryan "Darth" Bader.
