A group of individuals whas been honored by winning Region Athletic Director of the Year awards as presented by the South Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Included in that group are Tom Murphy of Aberdeen Roncalli in Region One, Bo Beck of Eureka in Region Two and Brent Dirk of Lemmon in Region Eight.
Other region winners are Marv McCune of DeSmet in Region Three, Dan Whalen of Pierre in Region Four, Mike Reinhiller of Chester Area in Region Five, Kevin Kennedy of Sioux Falls Washington in Region Six, and Mike Sebern of Burke in Region Seven.
Another group of retiring ADs was also recognized for their years of service. That group consisted of Murphy, Cal Schubert of Sisseton, Tery Stulken of Colman-Egan, Charlie Sizer of Miller, Judy Voeltz of Oldham-Ramona, Jennifer Limoges of Sioux Falls Roosevelt, and Jim Hood of Dupree.
Those inducted into the Hall of Fame include Tom Oster, Bob Winter and the late Benjamin "Butch" Bachman.
Jim Dorman of Sioux Falls Lincoln was selected the SDIAAA Athletic Director of the Year, in addition to being named the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Distinguished Service Award nominee and also the National Federation of State High School Associations Citation Award nominee.
Mark Meile of Sioux Falls won the NIAAA State Award of Merit.
Scholarship winners were Sadie Clements of Dakota Valley, Cassidy Gebhart of Elkton, Lauren Luther of Lennox, Alexandra Schuring of Groton, Allie Lahren of Sioux Falls, and Esteben Rodriguez of Lake Andes.
